reshiram is dragon/fire
why
reshiram is a puffy cloud like dragon, no semblance of fire ANYWHERE
reshiram is dragon/fire
why
reshiram is a puffy cloud like dragon, no semblance of fire ANYWHERE
Reshiram's tail is incredibly obviously a flaming torch. I see absolutely no problem with his being fire.
seraphic fire never come to mind?
like i mentioned already there's an obvious light/dark reference here
just because it looks like one thing doesn't mean that the appearance alone determines what it is, keep that in mind. there can be exceptions.
besides, it's the first announced fire/dragon type in the series
(p.s. altaria can learn fire blast too)

K, so my OU team.
Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash Standard suicide Aerodactyl lead, moving on.
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Pressure ll Jolly
Taunt
Stealth Rock
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Sceptile @ Salac Berry I know Sceptile's UU, and I don't particularly care. Sub stops CB U-Turn from Scizor from OHKOing me, and Focus Punch is there for all the Steel types.
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Overgrow ll Jolly
Substitute
Swords Dance
Leaf Blade
Focus Punch
Gyarados @ Wacan Berry The guy I usually switch in after Sceptile. Mostly just switches into...
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP (Aren't I SO creative?)
Intimidate ll Adamant
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Electivire @ Expert Belt Yup. Switches in after Wacan berry saves gyara from an electric attack. Meditate strengthens the two non-STABed attacks he has, while TBolt survives on EVs and Nature.
212 Atk, 252 Spe, 40 SpAtk, 4 HP
Motor Drive ll Mild
Meditate
Thunderbolt
Ice Punch
Earthquake
Lucario @ Life Orb Has great synergy with Gyarados, since Latias got banned. Lucario isn't outspeeding Gliscor/Salamence to Ice Punch anyway, so Crunch is more effective to kill the Ghosts that are totally immune to Lucario's two other moves.
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Inner Focus ll Jolly
Swords Dance
Close Combat
Extremespeed
Crunch
Salamence @ Life Orb Basically filler because I couldn't think of anything else. I hate Outrage.
200 Atk, 252 Spe, 56 SpAtk
Intimidate ll Naughty
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw (I despise Outrage...)
Earthquake
Fire Blast
And, my sweeper that replaces Lucario for lulzy battles...
Zangoose @ Life Orb This thing has actually saved me in multiple battles. Return is powerful STAB while CC and Shadow Claw give perfect coverage.
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Immunity ll Jolly
Swords Dance
Return
Close Combat
Shadow Claw

THE FUN BEGINS IMMEDIATELY.
Ok, to Falcon Pawnch, ill give a team rate.
First of all, even if your going to go the total offense route, it wouldnt hurt to have at least 1 Special sweeper. I would suggest Choice Specs Jolteon over Electivire since your whole team aside from mence is skarm weak. Second of all, your only counter to ice type is Lucario, and if you have Zangoose instead then you team is going to be in trouble if it faces a weavile what with 3 ice weakness's. And as for your gyara, why would you stay in on a elictric move. The mixed attacker set on Vire has a 99% chance of killing with Thunderbolt, and most other users of thundrbolt will kill gyara too, especially after stealth rocks woth thunderbolt. Give it leftovers or lifeorb. If you predict the move, then switch. Also, to incease the amount of special sweppers, try giving Sceptile this set.
Sceptile@Choice Specs/Choice Scarf
Ability: OverGrow
Nature: Timid
Evs: 252 Spe, 252 SpA, 4 hp
Moves
~ Leaf Storm
~ Energy Ball
~ Focus Blast
~ Hidden Power Ice / Dragon Pulse/Hp Fire( for killing scizor if your that worried about him)
Areodactyl is fine, mence...Even if you dislike Outrage, the extra power is really worth it, as you gain KOs you can't get with dragon claw. That about sums it up, take my suggetstion if you want, and i fyou don't then don't.
YAY there is nothing here.
Hey, uh, hey. There's already a competitive battling thread. There's been a couple team-rates for in-game teams, but not everybody in here wants to talk about the competitive scene. Plus, the comp thread is lonely and needs love.![]()
i really kindof go with the same team-ish every time.
for B/W i will probably go with:
Grass starter
charmander(traded){NO CHEATS}
various others....
and for random: ALL SMILEY:

*wipes tear* so true so true....
Can't wait to catch a Shimama and Meguroko ^^ Munna scares me kind of.
Some of the attacks seem kind of... Far fetched... and others are down right epic.
Anyone else notice the significant point that the Professor is a woman?
Spoiler:
More info on Serebii.net's homepage.
- You have to "transfer" Pokémon from 4th Generation games via a machine, kinda like the GSC time capsule thingie.
- The "C-Gear" allows for communication via Wireless, Wi-Fi and Infra-Red during gameplay. Don't quite get it myself.
- There is a new weather indicator on the bottom battle screen. I think this could mean weather is far more integral than it was in previous games. If Nintendo wants to be REALLY awesome they could have alternating weather in real time, which could perhaps even change the map depending on certain factors. The Lake of Rage almost did this in HGSS, so they could be expanding upon it. On the option screen there is also a time display and a battery power remaining icon, which are rather handy. Also it has a pleasing retro font.
- The crocodile's mouth opens randomly during battle, showing that the moving Pokémon isn't limited to just limbs.
- Hikers and umbrella ladies are back.
- Same numbering system for the first few Pokémon (Pokabu is no. 4, like all the fire starters before it). The chinchilla is no. 78, which is rather odd. I expected 'im to be earlier. Although you could say this defuncts him as being the possible Rattata/Bidoof of this generation.
- Utilises the same item sprites as generation 4. OH THE EXCITEMENT. :P
- I... have no clue what "Select > Shift" means. Unless it's selecting which shift item you want to use. I dunno.
Of course, EVERYONE wants Pokemon Black. I say, THE POKEMON WHITE MASCOT IS WAY COOLER OPEN YOUR EYES.
Well, yes, Zekrom is way cooler than Reshiram. :P(I'm guessing you mean Reshiram is cooler than Zekrom, but you got the games backwards. Black mon is in White and vice versa).
And eeee Chiramii is so cute! And Meguroko is cute AND awesome! I can already tell yall my team will have Smugleaf, Chinchilla, and Desert Croc on it.

OH MAI GAAAWWWD!
Just think...maybe Online exclusive areas? MMO-like features? This is epic!

Holy crap, the professor isn't named after a tree! Apparently, Araragi is a butterfly or something.
Uh, maybe it's the pose, but Mamepato looks like Honchkrow. And Hihidaruma totally has a mustache.
Gear is possibly the most uncreative Pokemon name I have ever seen. It's a gear. It's also called Gear. Also, I think the Pokedex designs are really cool.
Chiraamii is a mouse with a face. :>
I bet the middle version thingamabobber would either be Grey orTanZebra

Or Magnolia. I prefer that to Yew, anyways.
I hope America doesn't translate it. Araragi is a pretty cool name.
I know they're gonna translate it, but one can dream

Well, it's Wikipedia, so who knows.
Actually me and my friend were thinking up professor names and Magnolia was one of them. If they do translate it, Professor Magnolia sounds more catchy than Professor Yew.

I love friendship-based evolutions in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. I use a really cheapo method in maxing friendship :P
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum friendship based evolutions the cheap way- Keep feeding pokemon friendship raising berries until the text box says "It won't have any effect" then level up your pokemon by one level. There, I just saved you many many many many many days of evolution hell. (Just don't deplete your berries, save some for planting in the dirt so you have more berries to feed your Pokemon

HEY GUYS, I'M ON VGBOXART!!!
Alternatively, you could make it hold the sooth belle, give it ten vitamins in each of the two stats you want to be the highest anyway, then give it a haircut. Maybe ten minutes of walking will be enough to evolve it after that.

HEY GUYS, I'M ON VGBOXART!!!
I know that DPPt have a massage person somewhere, which is pretty much the same thing (maybe in veilstone?).
I would check bulbapedia but it is suddenly not working for me.
DPPt have a "haircuts" in the town where you gamble/Where Team Galatic's Headquarters are (Veilstone, I think? IDK off the top of my head) and they get another one on Battle Island in one of the cities there

I have a ton of berries :P So I won't have to go through the trouble of going to Daisy in Veilstone every day to get one measly massage. I usually go to the massage just because I get free Accessories :P

HEY GUYS, I'M ON VGBOXART!!!
schools almost out, so i might not be able to post any mo.
last i played platinum(doesn't get Soul Silver til Nov 4) i was leveling up my Mewtwo to 100.
who thinks there should be a pikachu smiley?
*wipes tear* so true so true....
I agree with mamthew's friendship evolution strategy.... As long as you still want to USE that pokemon to fight. ALL of the berries that raise happiness lower a base stat, and therefore weaken the Pokemon. But if you want to merely use the pokemon in a contest or just to get the Dex data, Yamigekusu's fast tactic is a good choice.
On a different note, I just restarted Emerald and Platinum a day ago. I'm going for Emerald first, and I just got to the 7th gym *A little slower than usual, but I like to level my pokemon equally* ...
...Does anyone have any ideas for a good Emerald team?
My current team ATM is
Lairon, Blaziken, Gardevoir, Vibrava, Wailmer, and Manectric. Yes, they will all be fully evolved, but I'm currently trying to get them all to level 40.
Oh yeah and on one more point.... Munna scares the HELL out of meIt probably evolves into some kind of freaky manbearpig -_-
