Is it expected that we put the extra text, such as who is starring and such, or is that unnecessary and not contribute at all to the finished product?

It's really up to you--if you think the work looks better with less (or no) text, then don't worry about it! The rules for these are generally fairly open to creative use.

Obviously it was "inspired" by the original Phoenix Wright cover. So yeah...

I'm starting on the final product. And it might take a while.

Yeah, there's your problem. You need to upload the image to a image hosting website (ex. Imageshack, photobucket) then copy the image location into the insert image bar.
