I love getting the opportunity to do more character-driven comics from time to time, even though the most popular BitFs generally seem to be more visual-oriented (or milestone strips). There’s simply a lot of potential fun that can be wrought out of these characters’ histories and worlds interconnecting.

For those wondering about the way this is set up, I see the mechanics of voting basically putting together “like” series at certain tables, but also putting several together that only have one rep (F-Zero and Metroid in this case) to incite more discussion.

I think the Cap brings up a good point; why would heroes want their main villains in their game? Perhaps Samus would just relish the chance to lay the beatdown on Ridley once again (provided she doesn’t freeze up).

Incidentally, for the curious, Ridley is my most-wanted SSB character. I mean, come on…Metroid seriously needs another rep, before anything else!

Thank you to those writing in about the site’s current issues–I’ve heard about them and am working on it! Something’s kinda screwy with the code right now so it’ll be a bit before we’re 100% again. Sorry for the inconvenience, but all of the comics and most of the rest of the site’s content should still be immediately available.

Last but certainly not least, I’d like to take this opportunity to salute Mr. Hiroshi Yamauchi, the former president of Nintendo and a man who set countless innovations in motion. While intimidating to those who knew him, he knew exactly how to steer the company in a wildly successful direction, and he hired numerous geniuses that still influence and create games to this day (not the least of which is Shigeru Miyamoto). Rest in peace, Mr. Yamauchi, and thank you for your legacy with Nintendo!
