What controller do you use??

I recentlly got a classic controller, and the placement of the buttons annoyed me, but it made me think, what controller do you use? Do you use the tried-and-tested gamecube controller? the NES style wii remote? or is it the strange layout of the the nunchuk?

GameCube for me for Brawl.

I own Smash Bros. 64 on the Virtual Console and in Cartridge form, and I was able to play it much more easily on the Wii with the GC controller than on its native control scheme. Strange, eh?

GameCube, no contest. For one, I am used to it from Melee, and I just think it has the best button placement anyway. All of my friends that use the Wiimote and Nunchuk change the button scheme anyway because it just isn't efficient.

I use Wiimote and Nunchuk. At first I picked so I would get this new Wii game feel, instead of using the same old Gamecube controller. Now I've gotten too used to it. I've tried to switch back to Gamecube, but it just felt wierd to me. I'm still alright with using the Nunchuk though.

Classic. I'm rather fond of the bottom placement, and by changing "grab" to Y, it becomes trés comfortable, and makes me use random French.

Gamecube is a close second (by changing grab to... X, I think), I've never even tried the other methods.

Batteries can be annoying though. But to that I say- I can hear the menu noises via the Wii Remote speaker and have a comfortable experience at the same time!

I have still to decipher what half of them are saying though. Thank god half of them are mute.

Wiimote and Nunchuk. I just like it better than the GameCube controller. The button layout is good (especially sine you can change the action a button does).

I know how to use all of them except for Classic Controller. I'm best with Gamecube Controller, and Wiimote with Nunchuck is perfectly comfortable except for the whole jump with C. On the other hand I somehow beat a Gamestop Brawl tournament using only the Wiimote. ((The people I was fighting must have really sucked))

I find that it's easier to use the classic controller if you just switch "a" to jump "b" to attack and "y" to special. Makes it feel more like a gamecube controller.

Anyways yes I use the Gamecube controller or the Classic controller. Either one works for me.

Yeah, that's exactly the same with me. I lost a Brawl tournament at my school because they wouldn't take the five seconds necessary to connect my Wii Remote and forced a GameCube controller on me instead. I didn't even know what I was even doing. And I lost to someone who, in all honesty, I could hav e easily beaten (Yeah, I sound like a sore loser, but I really do believe the controller was what screwed me).

I was just thinking the same thing. Ironically, my only GameCube controller is a Wavebird.

Although I will occasionally use a Wii Remote if a GCN controller isn't presently available. Classic Controller is my second choice. I've never used the Wii Remote + Nunchuk combo and never will.

Gamecube controller, but I use the remote + nunchuck sometimes, especially for more casual stuff. It's probably about 50/50. It's pretty useful to know the Gamecube layout, though, 'cause most people I know don't have four Wii controller sets, but do have a spare GCN controller laying around somewhere.

Nah, I believe it. I have a hard time with changed-up controller mechanics, too (pretty much everyone does) - muscle memory is essential to using the controller properly. Good reflexes are useless if you're reflexively hitting the wrong button, or having to think about the control scheme rather than what's going on in the game. I've gotten the sideways remote foisted on my a couple times, it was awful.

I guess i can't be suprised that gamecube is the most populer, I tried out the remote and nunkuck again today, I have no idea how anyone could use those...

I usually use the GCN controller for obvious reasons explained already, but otherwise I'll just go with Wii Remote+Nunchuck. Never really felt like buying a classic controller.
