Or better yet, advertise it as a SF parody and then the poor fools will find that instead of reskins they got unique characters. The fools! WUA-HA-HA! (Is it wrong I feel more evil marketing than I do killing bandits in Skyrim?)
Just Ryan though one of the Bosses deliberately combines the worst of Sagat and Akuma. The other Boss is a Helicopter. Not to say that no other Street Fighter characters will be referenced.
Based on the idea of raging against "da man" tension is basically the super meter but once you activate a tension move you "release the built up rage" which slowly drains the bar to zero meaning you have to chose when to "unleash your rage". A higher tension means normal attacks do more damage so it's not something to throw out lightly. Super bars eat the tension bar in one go. It may need some tweaking but the gimmick of one of the bosses is that he has an unlimited tension meter. And before you ask, "Kev" was Ryan's supervisor.
I was thinking it would work as a cheap app game. And if for some reason it takes off, Kickstart a sequel. Anyway here's the moveset for the Shoto guy. I'll put up some more tomorrow Name Ryan Job Office Drone Story After 15 years of service Ryan heard a tip that he would be on the next round of layoffs. In that moment he flipped his desk, made a bandana out of his tie, clocked his supervisor and sparked a riot. Now he’s out to get those that chewed him up and spat him out and nobody is going to get in his way. Play Style What Ryan lacks in fighting skills he makes up for in stolen office supplies. He has the basic Shoto skills with the addition of a special where he drinks coffee to increase his tension bar. (super meter) Special Attacks Junk-throwin’(QCF): An everyman’s Hadouken. Light is a piece of balled up paper, Medium is a coffee cup, Heavy is a briefcase and Tense is a Computer Monitor. All fall in an arc, the more powerful ones cover less distance but do more damage. This-Chair-is-broken (QCB): Ryan rides his desk chair at the opponent which breaks on impact Screw-you-Kev (DPF): does a jumping uppercut while holding a folder, leaving a trail of paper that compensates for his puny jump Caffeine Rush (DDP): Ryan downs a cup of coffee by squeezing it Popeye style to increase his tension bar Super Desk Job: Ryan picks up a desk and charges his foe with it.
Ok then I don't have a solid title yet so for now it's called "Office Brawl". The characters are all different occupations and they're all out to get back at their coworkers Basically it's a mishmash of the mundane used in crazy ways and a Street Fighter-esque fighting. For example, the obligatory Shoto character throws office supplies in place of a fireball with stronger versions throwing heavier stuff. Besides the shoto office worker I've tried to build the rest of the cast's game play around their jobs. The Construction worker builds structures and operates an offscreen crane to control space, the cleaning lady uses the long reach of her mop/broom to compensate for her slow speed and the grappler is someone in a Mascot costume who uses cutesy dance choreography to whup the foe's butt. I've got idea for 10 characters plus two non-playable bosses but I've still got some movesets to fully figure out. I also tried to balance the cast out between males and females so that there's not just one chick there for the fanservice. (One character has fanservice in design but that's besides the point). If you're interested I'll post info of the characters I've finished. DO you think this could work?
I uploaded a version with Black Mage's ramble text inserted already but I was so busy with this RANDOMSYMBOLS essay I must've uploaded it a bit late. I'll add the text to the next one a bit sooner. By the way with all the Skullgirls hype I got an idea for a fighting game. Want to hear it?
It all looks good but you forgot to do to the one that had the dialogue inserted in. I'll manually erase the stuff that crosses over for now.
How are you doing with the colouring?
For when you come back, I'll add the parts where Black Mage is ranting in the background to the PSDs so you can color over them. I'll save them as seperate files like "BMWM 5 w text", just ot be safe.
Well have fun doing whatever. I'll be finishing this danged dissertation.
Saw the Leaving/come back thread. How long are you gonna be away until?
Looking pretty good. Complements the art style. The only thing I'd say is Gardevoir's chest horn should be coloured in too but I may just be too used to Gardevoir's regular design.
One idea I had is to just colour in the character's eyes and hair, do you think that would work? In anycase I'll get the lineart up. By the way, how many hours does it take you to do the colouring of an average comic?
I got in the lineart from TanteiSakana posted to the dropbox. It's looking good but I'm not sure if we should colour it or not. What do you think
