A conical shield formed in the fireball's path, which snuffed the flame at the cost of a melted outer layer. However, Taxi had made sure to pour a hefty amount of strength into the barrier, no matter the stamina cost, as she couldn't afford to counter those searing flames with anything less. She immediately leaped towards the barrier, forming a cheap pole of darkness in her hands and connected it with the backside of her barrier. Upon combination, the conical barrier flared outwards and extended forwards, forming a large lance-like shape as extra magical energy flowed from Taxi's being into the construct. It was a weapon of balanced offense and defense- the base of the cone flared significantly outwards, almost thirty inches in diameter in order to shield Taxi from a frontal assault. The tip of the cone reached three feet forwards, forming a deadly point.

With her shield-lance outstretched, the thief took another leaping step forward and approached Tim's next hiding spot. She was ready to wrap things up, but she didn't expect Tim to be very compliant.

Tim had loss sight of Taxi, but decided that being among the pillars was not a place he wanted to be. Tim jumped into the propelling himself with flames shooting from his feet. He was able to spot Taxi heading towards where Tim had been hiding, with some sort of lance type thing. Taxi was well protected from the front. Tim turned in the air so that he was parallel to the ground facing down. Tim shot another burst of fire from his feet propelling him forward over Taxi, flipping as he passed over her. Tim used the momentum of the flip to throw the fire bomb which aimed directly behind Taxi. Given the lance's shape it should contain most of the explosion and doing some serious damage to Taxi in the process. Tim flew a good distance away, landing about five pillars away from the explosion.

Tim turned towards where Taxi would have been, knowing her she found some way to weasel out of the explosion. Tim readied an arrow and waited for Taxi's next move.

Tim must have failed to realize that Taxi never lost track of him, because his movements made him into a very easy target. Taxi didn't act on the opening, not quite yet, but rather she merely watched her opponent rocket into the sky. Just what was that guy thinking? The thief's gaze followed her opponent's path in the air while holding her lance steady. Tim then flew in her general direction, flipping before throwing his flames at the thief. 'That was dumb.'

Taxi's back wasn't quite as open as Tim had hoped, and the flying man's fire bomb crossed paths with a portal. The fire bomb was spit back out, angled up into Tim's projected path so that he might end up being burned by his own attack before he would ever reach a pillar. Mr. Taxi merely pivoted to face Tim, shielding herself with her lance in case her opponent had a hail mary attack in stock. She was much more interested in seeing how badly Tim was roughed up by his own flame, however.

Tim hadn't realized how ready Taxi was for him, speed wouldn't be enough to take her out. When Taxi opened her first portal, Tim inhaled watching the fire bomb be redirected back in his direction. Tim exhaled a concentrated burst of air, which whistled towards the fire bomb. The air should have been enough to detonate the already unstable orb of fire prematurely. The explosion should have obscured, Taxi's sight which Tim would use to his advantage. When the explosion went off, Tim used a gust of wind to push him towards the midsection of a nearby pillar, the gust should be undetectable considering the explosion and Tim's trajectory would have changed dramatically. Grabbing the pillar Tim quickly jumped to the on next to it. Tim continued this motion keeping a close eye on Taxi. The explosion had cleared by the time Tim made his first jump, Tim continued to jump from pillar to pillar attempting to circle around Taxi from the left. Tim used wind to mute his movement. Hopefully the explosion and all the pillars were enough of a diversion to keep Taxi from noticing his movement.

The explosion faded, and... Tim was gone. Was he hurt? Or did he escape? Mr. Taxi simply had no way of knowing, but she would sooner guess that her opponent had managed to keep himself intact. The former Champion whipped around, trying to locate Tim, but she narrowly missed catching sight of her opponent at every turn. Annoying...

Taxi merely crouched and picked up another rock into with right hand. Her shadow, meanwhile, began creeping across the ground, losing its original shape as it formed into a uniform circle radiating from Taxi's position. The shadow lacked any offensive capability (mostly due to the low power of Darkness in the arena) but it served a purpose in steadily covering the ground and pillars in a gentle shade, despite the high-noon sun's protests, reaching a ten foot radius while still growing. Taxi wasn't about to let her opponent get the jump on her.

Tim was able to avoid Taxi's detection when he got around Taxi. Peeking from behind the pillar he was hiding behind he could see a growing darkness covering the ground he could also see that Taxi's back was still to him. Tim quickly pulled out an arrow wrapping a fire bomb around the arrow head before preparing it in his bow. Using air to mute the shot as much as possible Tim released the arrow then continued circling around Taxi behind pillars and muting his movement. The bomb would have all the explosive power of a regular fire bomb with the added speed of an arrow. At best the explosion would do some serious damage to Ms. Taxi, though Tim doubted it, at the very least it's keep her busy. Tim kept close watch on Taxi as he moved around her, he wasn't sure how much longer he could sneak around like this.

    Re: The Glitz Pit Extended

Lighting the arrow on fire would turn out to be counterproductive for Tim, because once the arrow entered the area of Taxi's shadow and ate away at the shade by means of the fire's light, Taxi could nearly instantly tell that something was headed her way. From her crouching position, the thief jumped straight up with Shatter in her step. While the ground beneath her cracked into a tiny crater, the attack gave her jump the extra speed necessary to escape the oncoming arrow. Taxi spun around to face the direction that the arrow came from, as the projectile harmlessly exploded on a far pillar behind her.

Having reached a height of almost twenty feet, the former Champion created a platform with Shield to keep herself in the air while surveying the land below her. So where was Tim? There was nothing to be found at the direction the arrow came from, so- ah, hold on a second. There was a figure shifting between the pillars around Taxi's front-left, quite a distance away from her. Obviously it was Tim, so just what was he planning next? Taxi wouldn't lose sight of him, not this time. She readied a rock in one hand while balancing her lance across both arms, eager to react to anything Tim had for her.

    Re: The Glitz Pit Extended

Tim never lost sight of Taxi so when she jumped into the air, Tim used it as an opportunity. Tim shot an arrow at Taxi as she jumped aiming for her exposed legs. I see she wants to take to the sky, well that's fine by me. A burst of fire shot from his feet and he used the air to speed up even more as he headed directly under Taxi, running on the ground. Stopping just short of the crater, Tim used both hands to shoot a column of fire almost direct. Tim had to keep Taxi on the defensive, and her arial position would leave her fairly exposed to the fire coming from underneath her. This could be the shift in battle Tim was looking for. Just after unleashing the pillar of fire Tim dove behind a pillar rolling to his feet. He kept a close eye on Taxi, and though he knew he had to keep moving he couldn't help but feel a little winded.

    Re: The Glitz Pit Extended

Tim's arrow ripped past Taxi's right leg, taking a bit of flesh with it. The damage might have been worse if the thief hadn't spun around in the air, but nonetheless it was a painful and potentially hampering wound. Meanwhile, Tim had rushed in and closed a surprising bit of distance... definitely annoying. Taxi was aware of how open she was, however, and immediately jumped back off her platform (keeping more stress on her left leg) as Tim unleashed his attack. The flames passed above the former champion, frying nothing, but that damn heat... it felt like she was experiencing first-degree burns from mere proximity. Regardless, Taxi threw her rock right at Tim as her opponent's attack began to wind down (and before he could get the chance to flee behind a pillar), boosting the speed and power of the rock by combining it with a small bullet of darkness. She would touch down soon and hopefully bring Tim into her grasp; this game of keep-away just wasn't fun anymore. She mostly expected another flaming projectile from Tim, if he could even respond with more fire with such little time to recover, and mentally prepped herself to return his attack with a portal.

    Re: The Glitz Pit Extended

Just as the flames dispersed something sped into Tim's left hand and straight out the other side. The pain was searing and it immediately stopped Tim from retreating. Tim felt the air move as Taxi landed behind him. She was close, very close. Tim held his hand as air began to warm around him. The air spun around him, between separating him from Taxi. Tim was starting to feel the fight, he was starting to feel the strain. He had to end it soon he was losing his focus. Just as the air began moving around Tim, it ignited forming a bubble of fire around Tim. Tim put most of his energy into the attack. As the flames grew stronger Tim pushed them out in every direction. Hopefully Taxi's proximity wouldn't allow her to react in time.

Just as Taxi touched the ground, she chucked her shield-lance sideways at Tim, throwing it with the power of Shatter. The construct would spin at a very high speed with all that strength behind it, and was forceful enough to ignore the (already weakened) air current that Tim used to separate himself from Taxi. It would even reach Tim before he could bring his flames up to full force, and since the guy wasn't moving he'd be hit directly by Taxi's spinning lance. If a broken spine and rib cage didn't outright kill him, the knockback of the forceful attack would at least leave Tim more than a little incapacitated.

"Alright, party's over you two. Your fight will be judged shortly. In the meantime, it's time for our next fight: Nothing (that I know of). Yep, we're all caught up on fights now for reals (probably). So, uh. See you 'round, I guess."

(Champion fight between myself and Inx.)
    Spoiler: Luigi's Mansion

Marcus entered the arena.Seeing no sign of Aria yet e reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black cloud, then tosses it up into the air. The cloud flew by itself, higher and higher, getting bigger and bigger, until it was a thousand feet above the ground and big enough to cover most of the sky. Snow started falling from the cloud, though it wouldn't reach the ground for another couple of minutes.

Still with no sign of Aria, Marcus split into three clones, all of them standing with their backs to the others, keeping a lookout for Aria from all directions to make sure she didn't catch them by surprise.

Aria fell from the sky like a smoking black meteor, landing on the center o the roof. the darkness of the stage melding with the darkness of her coat as she brushed herself off, looking around and spotting the marcus trio.
She smirked, "Two versus three doesn't seem so fair," as she pulled her scythe off her back and twirled it in her hand. She held out an open palm and shot off two bolts of dark energy to start off the fight, as she started to slowly walk forward towards them.

Marcus merged with his clones again and stepped out of the way of the dark bolts. "Three? I believe your counting may be a bit off here, I only see one of me. Or maybe that was just one of the many tricks my accountants use to manipulate our numbers. I've been in the business world so long that I've picked up on a few of those tricks myself. Three becomes one, and one," Marcus ripped a chunk of ice from the floor and sent it flying at Aria. When it was halfway between them, it suddenly splintered into a couple dozen sharp ice needles, all of them ponting at Aria. "Becomes dozens."

"How amusing," Aria smirked, holding out her free hand in the path of the ice shrapnel. A pulse of dark energy inflated out from it, capturing the ice like a thick gel before dropping them harmlessly to the ground. She then clench her fist and the darkness retracted into a polished black orb that she flung towards the Marci(?). Once in range it would burst into a cloud of smoke, blocking out vision and Aria would rush forward to get into melee range of her opponents, ready to cleave her scythe through whatever fell into her sights.

While Aria was busy dealing with the ice needles, Marcus jumped up. In the air, some ice broke off from the floor, changed shape and attached to his shoes, turning them into ice skates made of ice. When Aria threw the dark orb, he began skating to the right, strafing around her. "A smoke cloud?", Marcus called out to her. "You'll need to come up with better tricks than that if you want to catch me off guard." He then grabbed some ice and morphed it into a sphere in preparation for a steam bomb.

Aria smirked, and held both hands out towards the cloud and flung them in Marcus' direction. The swipe caused the entire cloud to lurch forward and start chasing Marcus, and tendrils of dark energy could be seen whipping out from the cloud attempting to latch on to anything that entered it. Aria's entire focus went into this, but meanwhile, two threads of her coat stretched down around her feet and wrapped around them forming a pair of skates as well. Her coat also began firing a few blasts of dark energy from a suddenly formed cannon on Aria's shoulder, aiming at the ice ball to disrupt his attack.

Seeing the black cloud persist in the corner of his vision, Marcus turned his head and noticed it was following him. He grabbed some ice and melted it, then turned and, holding it out towards the dark cloud, heated it into steam. The burst of steam dispersed the cloud and sped him up a bit, just out of the way of the first dark blast. Turning back to face Aria, Marcus ducked under the second dark blast, then manipulated some ice a bit further ahead into a ramp and jumped over the third blast. He armed the steam bomb, and at the apex of his jump, he lobbed it at Aria.
