Oh, sorry, I'd thought I finished up all the current work here. Guess not.
Well uh this is kinda the exact same thing as the last one, without the crossover and the weird combat thing. You could've asked for an unlock on that thread and made a revision but okay!
I guess there isn't a lot explicitly wrong with this, though. The story overview's kinda cheesy, but that's befitting of a Kirby game, I suppose.
However I think you're still leaning into a game-like system for combat, what with "trademark abilities" and all. Although really this can probably be contained somewhat realistically inside standard story prose and as long as you have that it shouldn't be a problem.
I don't think it's particularly fair to have some people as more crucial to the story than others, but if anything at least it shows that you've planned something out. Which is good. However it's nice having people be on a level playing field, and in the end the actions of the characters, not their identities, should be what affects things. I dunno really, but maybe keep that statement in mind. It's not actually a problem unless there's tons of bias and attention and stuff, but I'm sure we'll have none of that.
By virtue of nothing really being wrong or terrible here I guess it's alright, have fun! Eventually! Maybe.
, even though my favourite Kirby series partner is Birdon. Every RPer will be on a "level playing field", as you say; I'll do my best to see to that.
1st Approval! Awesomesauce! Thank-you!
What an interesting RP! Looks like you're making a Kirby equivalent to my LOZ RP. I like that! Don't you just love putting everything together into one big world? I do. By the way, where did you get that world map image? It's awesome, but I don't remember seeing it in any Kirby games. Or did you make it by yourself? If you did, then that is a mighty fine job there.
Personally, I think that certain characters that are really crucial to the story should maybe be NPCs. That way, everyone can definitely be on the same level of importance. Plus, you could add the species of those characters to the roster, so that those characters aren't completely closed off. For example, you could make Kremepuff/Puffball/Popopo (Kirby's species) one of the species, while making the original Kirby an NPC. See where I'm going with this?
I would love to join this, seeing as it's the only Kirby RP I've seen here. If possible, I might choose to be an enemy. Will you include them in the RP, too? Like, maybe certain boss/midboss characters and common enemy species? You don't have to if you don't want to, but it's something to consider, especially since the Kirby franchise has some awesome baddies.
Combat seems fine, but I don't know about the Trademark Abilities thing. Seems sort of restrictive, unless there's a reasonable explanation for it.
I didn't really try to make a connection between "World Without a Hero" and this, but I see where you're going with that statement.
The map is from Kirby's Return to Dreamland. I just tweaked it a bit to map out the locations in the RP.
Some of the inspiration behind this came from the old RP, Shadow Goo. (Yeah, a Kirby RP was done in the past before.) I did my best to make this RP look very different from it by trying to make it resemble the games a bit better. That's why there are a few restrictions with some details, but in place of those, there are a few freedoms with other things.
On the topic of Kirby's species, one big factor in design was variety, something again I took into account after seeing the Shadow Goo RP. I didn't want an RP dominantly composed of one species, and knowing there are a lot of Kremepuff/Puffball/Popopo/etc fan characters out there, it would impede with my variety desire. It's just dealing with creativity, not just for character design, but for the RP as well.
An enemy RPer? Crap! Why didn't I think of that? Hmmm... Well, I may be able to tweak it a bit to allow for enemy characters (villains or rogues), but I would only be able to go as high as four extra openings. Villains would be in line with the Black Hands, that's for sure, but I'd have to work out rogues. Plus, this is story driven, so rogues would probably be screwed over in the final chapters of the RP, and villains would all die in the end. Let me think this over.
Oh, don't worry. Trademark Abilities are only the species' strongest move(s). They're not limited to those; they can use a wide range of moves based on their species ability.
Ah, I see. Well, everything looks good, then. Here's to hoping you can go through with your brilliant idea!
[^It's a joke, people! I just want to clarify that before anybody takes it the wrong way.]
I hope this pulls through. The idea seems very interesting and I'd love to be a part of it!
Though I'm surprised Gooey isn't part of the cast.
this sounds very cool SS!
if I join, I call Sir Kibble! I love his ability in RTD! (Return to dreamland)especially when you charge it up and it's bigger and it's like a helicopter blade.

Okay, registration day! I'm gonna register as the original helper, but will change if wanted or necessary.
Species: Some kinda dark dark matter
Color: Dark blue with big white googly eyes.
Any Special Ability/Talent/Gear: Same as Kirby, though has to wrap his tongue around what he is trying to eat when without an ability rather then the more useful inhaling.
Personality: A bit slow to grasp what's going on. While he is generally kind, somewhat caring, and always willing to help, he is awfully clumsy and curious, which sometimes gets him in trouble.
Background: Gooey was just enjoying life, relaxing in Prism Plains, chasing a butterfly, when he saw something pink crash into the distance. He went to see what it was out of curiosity, unaware he would end up on a quest with his old friend Kirby.
Requested Starting Place: Anywhere near Kirby in Prism Plains, not necessarily in Green Greens.
User: Mr. Explodes Alot
Even if it was, I'm afraid Gooey isn't a valid playable character. As I said, "Any character/species not in the roster will act as an occasional NPC." This includes animal buddies and any allies from Kirby's Dreamland 3 / Kirby 64.

But there is no other place to register. Sorry for doing it early in the morning on the day you said it would start so I could have time to change upon possible rejection, allowing me to edit. How about an apology hug?
the cutter ability goes bigger (just by a bit) when you charge it up, it's not like in the trailer with the super sword. but read at your risk I'm just pointing out what the cutter ability is with holding down the attack button. But the big question is...how am I gonna use that ability in the RP without spoiling any info about it? I could use the spoiler, /spoiler box....ya I'll use that
