NAME: Hankar
RACE: Sheikah
ALLIANCE: Hero
ROLE: Venture
DESCRIPTION: Medium, rather nondescript height and a slim but muscled build. Naturally blond hair, but is often died different colors. Wears a green tunic vaguely similar to that worn by the Hero of Time with a layer of light chain mail concealed underneath, and brown pointed boots. His belt is covered with dozens of pockets containing oddities like Deku nuts, throwing knives, a disguise kit and a collapsible longshot, his long range weapon of choice. His face is not handsome by any standard, but interesting, somehow, partly because of his ever-shifting range of goofy facial expressions. Finally, his signature headpiece is a green three-cornered hat with a red feather.
OCCUPATION: Wandering vigilante. Takes odd jobs on occasion.
ABILITIES: A nimble fighter and acrobat who prefers messing with a foe’s head rather than his fists, Hankar is skilled at angering his foes through banter and wit, then capitalizing on their rage with quick, surprising attacks. His fighting style is mostly defensive, with a focus on tiring his foes then brutally finishing them off. He can turn nearly anything into a deadly weapon, from a broken window to a bucket to blades of grass. He is also a master of disguise, using his formidable acting skills and nondescript appearance to assume a rich variety of personas. He is incredibly skilled with a longshot, but is awkward with a sword, as it forces him to get closer to the enemy then he would like. His archery skills are passable, but undeveloped. His favorite weapon, however, is his sharp wit, which penetrates most foe’s defenses and endears him to his few friends. Lastly, he has absolutely no magical skill (see below).
PERSONALITY: Brave but somewhat rash, Hankar is a wanderer at heart, always moving, always experiencing new things. He has a strong desire to help those in need, partly because of his boyish love of a good fight and partly because of a genuine sense of compassion. Hankar is rarely serious unless he’s seriously depressed, and although he can get along with most people he rarely forms lasting attachments. His outlook on life is incurably optimistic, with no lofty ambition but to have fun and hopefully help others along the way. He also fancies himself something of a ladies’ man.
BACKGROUND: Raised in the Sheikah Village and trained in all the arts of the Sheikah, with one exception: He had absolutely no affinity for magic. It just never worked for him. Not only this, but whereas most Sheikah children were trained to be silent, deadly warriors, Hankar was loud and preferred to banter back and forth with his opponents, utilizing his quick, devastating wit to throw them off their guard. The combination of these two oddities made Hankar a bit of an outcast in the Sheikah community. To make up for his lack of magical prowess, Hankar devoted himself to physical and mental development, mastering the Sheikah fighting style but also incorporated the moves of other races, all tailor-fitted to match his unique skills. Soon Hankar could square off against nearly any of his peers even without the use of magic.
But the elders of Sheikah Village disapproved of Hankar’s unorthodox ways. To mellow him, the elders sent him on a pilgrimage to the top of Snowpeak Mountain, hoping this would teach him obedience. But when Hankar ran into a squad of Moblins attacking a group of Hylian travelers, he used his fighting prowess to save the innocents and defeat the Moblin squad, working his mouth the entire time. He enjoyed himself so much that he decided to withdraw from his studies at 18 years old to go out into the world and make a difference. He adopted a different outfit and style and became a travelling adventurer.
