Yeah, do Villerar's thing. Also create an alliance with Canada so we can get maple syrup and Canadian bacon and stuff.

Also, can we have a larger world map, or description of other parts of the world? Who owns South America and Africa, for example.

If and only if they accept the deal, immediately apprehend any Russian spies identified, contact rebels involved and offer them to reinvest 50% minus the sum going to Germania back in Crimea if they cut ties with Russia, put capital controls to the Russian Federation in place to prevent a cash flow to the Russian Federation and seize the assets of Putin and his allies in Russia. Then reveal the documents that prove Russian involvement. Also ask for support from the New Scandinavian Union in isolating the Russian Federation. If the deal is rejected by Germania, ignore this paragraph and continue negotiations.

Support the attempt of the Union of European Nations and the United Nations to deescalate the conflict.

Offer 200 million whatever moneys in food and fuel aid to the PDAA to help placate the population of New England.

Implement an ambitious climate agenda of increasing the share of renewable energy by 2% of the total energy needs in the upcoming five years, to reduce the dependence on oil incomes. First focus on wind power in industrial zones, off-shore (Baltic and Black Sea) and on coastlines outside nature reserves and recreational hotspots, but already announce a feed-in tariff in the upcoming years. Spread the location reasonably fairly, so that regions with a rebel presence also profit from the investments.

Hold private meetings with representatives of the PDAA, the New Scandinavian Union (and its individual governments), Canada and the PAA about their ideas on promoting socialism.

Throw some ice at foreigners to make foreigner relations lukewarm

Place some ships to defend Ukraine just in case stuff gets real. Also begin to fund video game development in our country. Run a campaign and everything. Trust me, this will come in handy later...

Edit: Villerar, it's 2028. The situation is probably viral by now, all we need to do is save evidence of the event onto the super secret encrypted government computer...

Re: AHCYOA V: The Return of the Nuclear Boogaloo

    The Year Is: 2029

    Congress of States

    Approval Rating: 54%

There is a debate churning in the Congress of States. Many of the Eastern States (Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic States), feel threatened by the mobilization of Russia's military force, and ask for you to do the same. (Note: This is where you should really argue about whether you should declare war. You have the support of one of the largest armies in the world, over a much weaker Russia. IF you decide to declare war, it will take another turn for the COS to vote. However, you can simply veto the notion outright.)

    General Information

    United Nations Approval Rating: 72%
    Nuclear Weapons: 308
    Current Foreign Relations: Very Warm
World Tension (1-100 ranking): 65+ (The world is growing more tense)
    Space Colonists: 335
    At War With: nobody

    The United Nations:

Votes to Intervene in the Yugoslav Crisis

    1. Germania: Yes
    2. Pacific Union: Yes
    3. Pan-Asian Alliance: Yes
    4. PDAA: No
    5. Commonwealth of East European States: No (Although I know someone voted "yes" in the chat, I'm considering Villerar's reply of general peace over that.)

VOTE: 35 (2 were Sec Council Members) to 50 (3 were Sec Council Members)

Because both the PDAA and the Commonwealth have voted against the intervention, and both have veto power, the United Nations will NOT intervene in the Yugoslav-Italia Crisis.

Next Vote: Should the United Nations embargo the Russian Federation and the Ethiopian Empire (2 separate votes)

    Events:

    Internal:

WORLD DEFINING DEAL: Germania and the Italia Puppet State sign a deal with the Commonwealth of Eastern Europa States!

The deal defines the freeze of all assets to Putin and the Russian Federation, and it also deals with a crisis in Yugoslavia, where the CEES defined the move of 20% of profit from the international asset freeze, and in return, Germania and her allies would move away from Yugoslavia. The UN Security General, Claus Loritz, called this deal a "wonderful effort of peacemaking between nations", and that it "successfully defused a crisis that would have boiled over without intervention".

Putin responded by calling the asset freeze an "unlawful and clear declaration of economic warfare", and also called out the CEES, "for abandoning it's socialist ideals by supporting fascist dictators in Germania and Italia." He then proceeded to totally embargo the CEES, and Germania, and convinced Russia's greatest ally, the Pan-Asian Alliance to do the same. With the sudden freeze of assets, it is now estimated that within 3 years, the Russian Federation's economy will completely collapse.

This was also followed up by a sudden industrial and military mobilization in the Russian Federation. Many fear that the mobilization may be the beginnings of a standoff with the CEES. However, Germania and the Yugoslav Union have now announced it's support of the CEES if a crisis broke out.

The new green initiative was well taken in the Baltic Areas, and the dependency on oil in those regions have dropped drastically.

Many members of the newly elected Crimean region were found to be paid by the Russian Federation, and were promptly booted out over a Pro-CEES Governor. This was critiziced by the Russian Federation, but the criticism did not affect much. The Crimean rebels continue to deny any connection to the Russian Federation, but it has been noted that many of the rebellion's prominent members have fled to Russia.

    International:

The Russian Federation has begun mobilizing it's armed forces. There has been a sudden buildup on the Russian-CEES border.

Germania has announced it's support for you in a war.

Yugoslavia has announced it's support for you in a war.

The New Scandinavian Union has voted AGAINST helping you isolate Russia. The Danish and Swedish delegates voted in favor, but Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Greenland have voted against it.

The PDAA has thanked you for your support in the New England crisis, and the situation has defused easily after some talks. New England will remain a part of the PDAA, but as one contiguous state that has a lot of power over the PDAA Congress.

Wait, I thought Villerar and I both voted yes.

We should declare war, and embargo Russia to assist in the war. Since we also have Germania and Yugoslavia on our side, we should win.

Re: AHCYOA V: The Return of the Nuclear Boogaloo

Planetbox, the plan was against an intervention in Yugoslavia. The vote is about whether states are in favour.

I'm against war immediately, but for internal mobilisation and supporting the motions for embargoes against the Ethiopian Empire and the Russian Federation. I think isolating the Russian Federation works better if we don't go on an invasive war, the odds for the motions passing looks better in those cases. Contact other UN members with veto rights to promote putting those embargoes in place. With some luck, Russia will run dry in a few turns and Putin will be ousted.

Do we have a rocket shield? If not, start building facilities for one on the eastern border, but avoid unnerving other neighbouring countries. Something tells me that will turn out useful very soon. Commit to intercepting any nukes that Russia might send against any member of the Union of European States. Make sure that bomb shelters are available in regions that are under threat from a Russian attack.

Break the news to Putin that he's not a socialist. It may be a good idea to broaden the assets freeze to rebels who fled to the Russian Federation. Don't crack down on the other rebels.

Start implementing the feed-in tariff, placing the costs on grid operators, promote local solar power. Increase the targets from 2% to 3% per year. Improve the rail infrastructure, use this to streamline mobilisation.

Are there any ways to improve our economy in the short term? Any potential trading partners?

Do this. Whenever we go to war with anybody, the results are usually catastrophic.

Re: AHCYOA V: The Return of the Nuclear Boogaloo

    The Year Is: 2030

    Congress of States

    Approval Rating: 60%

The Congress of States has approved your proposals on the green energy initiative and the nuclear-defense wall. However, many question the unneeded stress this will place upon the economy of the CEES. However, concerns were dropped after the price of oil jumped due to the increased industrial strain in the world. The Congress of States also improved rail infrastructure and called for a minor industrial mobilization in a recent bill.

    General Information

    United Nations Approval Rating: 76%
    Nuclear Weapons: 312
    Current Foreign Relations: Very Warm
World Tension (1-100 ranking): 68+ (The world is growing more tense)
    Space Colonists: 335
    At War With: nobody

    The United Nations:

Vote to Embargo the Russian Empire

    1. Germania: Yes
    2. Pacific Union: Abstain
    3. Pan-Asian Alliance: No
    4. PDAA: Yes
    5. Commonwealth of East European States: Yes

VOTE: 42 (3 were Sec Council Members) to 47 (1 were Sec Council Members)

Because of the majority vote NO against embargoing the Russian Empire, and the NO vote from the Pan-Asian Alliance, the United Nations has voted AGAINST embargoing the Russian Empire. However, the 43 nations who voted 'Yes' have all personally embargoed the Russian Empire

(Remember: Veto Power does not mean that a vote is guarenteed to happen if you Vote Yes!)

Vote to Embargo the Ethiopian Kingdom

    1. Germania: Yes
    2. Pacific Union: Yes
    3. Pan-Asian Alliance: Yes
    4. PDAA: Yes
    5. Commonwealth of East European States: Yes

VOTE: 87 (5 were Sec Council Members) to 3 (0 were Sec Council Members)

Because of the landslide majority vote YES for embargoing the Ethiopian Kingdom, the United Nations has voted FOR embargoing the Ethiopian Empire. The embargo begins effective next year.

    Events:

    Internal:

A rogue minister was fired today from the Congress, for inciting 'rogue and suicidal ideas' and trying to nuke Russia, the moon, and Pluto.

The green experiment in the Baltics have been a huge success, there have been less people seen in the hospital, and the quality of the air is better than it's ever been in 40 years.

A military shield is currently being built on the borders of Belarus and Ukraine and bomb shelters are being built in every major city of the nation, with an initiative set up by each nation to encourage citizens to build their own shelter.

The CEES economy is booming due to the rising price of oil and the increased mobilization of industry and the workforce. You are also now receiving subsidies from Germania, the Yugoslav Union, and the PDAA.

    International:

The industrial buildup of Russia is straining it's resources, but a jingoistic wartime furor, plus support from the Pan-Asian Alliance, has supported the Russian Federation's economy. Now, Russia is threatening the eastern border of your nation with a threatening military buildup. Multiple spies have noted the inclusion of Pan-Asian tanks, albeit with Russian flags and insignia. It's also rumored that the Crimean rebels are still working in conjunction with the Russian Empire, supplying Russia with materials via the black market, and giving them confidential military secrets.

Prosecute the rogue minister for suspected coup activities. Use the opportunity to make the judiciary independent from the executive so the minister doesn't get a kangaroo court.

Also use that to investigate and prosecute any rebels who still support Russia. Expose the Russian spy network and find out what intelligence they gained. Do not target all Crimean separatists indiscriminately.

Use the subsidies to expand and upgrade the military, prioritising the air force and the army. Especially strengthen covert defence where Russian intelligence learnt there are weak points, creating kill zones and such there. Negotiate with allies about the option to build more nukes. Train more elite special ops troops.

Continue the regional investment programme and increase the sustainable energy targets to 4 percent point growth of the total per year.
