    Delta of Time

    Delta of Time

We all assumed Time flowed in a straight line
Linear from start to an ultimate end
Everyone is destined to live on the straight and narrow

What we discovered breaks all bounds of our former assumptions
    What is real

    What isn't

    My name is Roark
My friends and I have just discovered the secret to achieving time travel
Or a lesser form of it for now
But because we didn't understand the full consequence of our actions
Things have gotten out of hand

You may not realize the world as it is to you is only a variation of what you know
A false iteration of how the world should be
What I call the Alpha Timeline
But trust me when I say the Timeline with which you are currently in
    This Beta Timeline
Is not how the world was meant to be
    Is meant to be
If humanity follows its path down this Beta Timeline
Destruction on a scale none yet have witnessed in all of history awaits
And the end is much closer than we fear

Trapped on the other side of the time stream all I can do is watch and wait
Wait for Time to miraculously fix itself
Or put this knowledge into your hands
    My Friends
You who can solve these issues

Our prototype time machine is only powerful enough to send messages back in Time
Because of how I screwed with Time in my naivete
I am without the time machine
But you on the other side have our machine and can do something with it
With the ability to send messages back in Time
You are the only ones now with the ability to correct the time continuum

The mission you must undertake in order to save all of Time is twofold
Even though we are all in this Beta Timeline
Your existences are in a slight deviation of the Beta Timeline
Which separates you all from myself
Think of it as the Wall of Unseen Time if you will
The first step in saving Time is to converge your part of Time with mine
So that we may help each other in correcting this mess
The second step is to help me undo all that I have changed throughout the Timeline
So that we may avoid the ultimate end this Beta Timeline foretells
And hop back on to the original Alpha Timeline

You few are the last hope for humanity
Even if humanity has yet to realize this fact
    Tread carefully now
For Time is a fickle creature
Who sometimes needs ample persuasion to change

    ~Ro

So far, sounds interesting, but there is little detail of the setting (before time travel mucks it all up), what year it's in, what key events have happened in the past, what's the technology in that timeline, who assasinated hitler etc

If we can get a clearer view on the starting point, that would be good.

also chrononauts is a fun game

I've added additional details under the "Location" section such as era and main deviant between them and us.

I need more time-related games and shows with which to entertain myself. Kind of running out after Zero Escape and Steins;Gate.

Is SERN going to kill us infinite numbers of ti-Dangit, Panda already beat me to the joke.

Anyway, I like the idea, I'll probably sign up soon, but Panda mentioned all the concerns I had, so I'll wait until those are answered.

I was considering something along these lines would be pretty fun myself. If this gets off the ground I'll play.

I don't have any problems with this – it's a very unique concept for an RP. I hope all goes well, and it's great to see some more activity in here.

    Huzzah! Long live the Arena!

I'm still open to additional suggestions if anyone sees something missing from his general plotline.

    ...Or not.
((Crap, I shouldn't have read so fast. I thought there was going to be time travel. You know, time travel involving one or more human beings.))

    Spoiler: Intriguing
    Fate in life ever changing
    Ever gaining; ever loosing
    Ever rising; ever falling
A swirling tide upon the seas of time

    Ever coming; ever going
    Ever smiling; ever frowning
Such are the moments of life
And ever onward the tide of time swirls

    Re: Delta of Time

    Name: Mariya
    Gender: Female
    Age: 26

Appearance: Mariya is short and tiny, small bones, but huge dark brown eyes that take in everything that happens around her. She has slightly wavy hair that goes down to her waist, but hardly anyone sees it like that anymore. It's usually held up in a bun with a pencil or pen or whatever is on hand at the moment. Her black-rimmed glasses were recently exchanged for contacts, making her look less like the librarians she encountered every Saturday morning. She goes barefoot every chance she gets, although it's not as safe to go barefoot in the city as it was at the small, rural college she attended. When she isn't at the school, she wears simple, comfy clothes and charms around her wrists and ankles for good luck.

Personality: For Mariya, an enjoyable day isn't going out to see people or being part of the city life. It is much more preferable to stay in and satisfy her curiosity of life through reading. She doesn't say much and softens her words in the hope of not offending anyone. Optimism is a big part of her nature, and she tries to see to see things realistically. Although sometimes the attempt at being realistic doesn't fit well with her optimism and she becomes an almost hopeless optimistic.

Background: Mariya is a second-year teacher in a medium-sized city school. She likes teaching comparative literature well enough, but if she could do anything, she would spend hours in the library reading up on myths, theories, and philosophy. Math and computers aren't really her thing. Science wasn't either until she started to read about the different theories of time relativity, then she couldn't stop learning about it.

She is a naturally curious person, though, even if she isn't adventurous. But curiosity overtook her when she looked across the street one day and saw the blinds of the other apartment open, the apartment that sits over the laundromat. The room looked empty except for a bizarre machine standing in the middle. For a few days she tried to look through her books to see if she could find anything about this machine, but, as there were no clues to be found, she decided to try to get a closer look.
