    Re: The Obituary.

Doctor Who star Elizabeth Sladen, known in the show as Sarah Jane Smith, died today.

Sad news, I can see two generations being hit hardest by this, the people who grew up with her in the John Pertwee and Tom Baker years and the kids who watched her recent (and quite good) spin off series.

A bit late, but a few days ago Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box overdosed and was found in El Reno.

    He was only a junior.

Man struggled against man until the end, heaving and clawing. A single hand rose from the pile of corpses spread across the Earth, until it, too, softened and returned to the soil.

Jack Layton, such a great leader of my country. Only a few months ago, he achieved something his party never achieved before, become the Official Opposition. I am an NDP supporter.

Social democrats and democratic socialists alike, Canadian or non-Canadian, shall mourn his death. No one can replace his charisma, his energy, or his vision.

    Re: The Obituary.

Today, I went to the City Hall (I live in Toronto). I paid my respect to the late great Jack Layton. I placed the same plush Kirby toy that is my avatar on the model of the City of Toronto. I placed it behind the Plexiglas on a blue area that notes Lake Ontario. Security guards just nodded at me. As long as the buildings are not disturbed, I am fine. Fortunately at the end, I put my toy back in my bag and left City Hall as normal. Security guards said nothing and did nothing.

Meanwhile, I went on the new subway train back home. I placed the same toy on the fold-up seat. The seat lifted itself back up and nearly crushed the you. Fortunately, neither the seat nor the toy was damaged.

    Here is the train

    Here is the interior

The visit to Jack Layton was interesting. He believed in strong public transit systems for Canadian cities, among other things.

Holy heavens… my heart literally stopped as soon as I heard this. It’s almost as scary as Michael Jackson’s sudden departure. It’s just… what the hell?!

Just now, I had to block and delete a few of my MSN contacts just because they were celebrating this incredible man’s death. It surprises and saddens me to see some people praising things like this. I have no respect for people who in turn have no respect for life and death.

Personal issues aside (my apologies; it just grinds my gears when people act this way), Steve Jobs pretty much revolutionized technology as we know it. And at 56, I bet he still had so much more to conceptualize. He’ll definitely be missed.

Well, Steve Jobs was a truly wonderful mind in the world of electronics. He resigned about a month ago, correct me if 'm wrong, and he probably knew his time was coming to an end. A real shame, it really is. We'll miss you Mr. Jobs, co-founder and face of Apple products.

In a way, I almost knew this was coming. Nobody would leave their thriving empire if they weren't in critical condition. Even so, it's a sad day for all computer users- Mac, PC, Linux, everyone- and even though Steve Jobs wasn't the most charitable guy around, he did many good things for this world.

    Rest in peace.

Also, it disgusts me to see PC users celebrating this event. Seriously, you wouldn't be on the platform you're making your tasteless cries with without this guy. It's shameful for every other Windows user.

Hasn't Jobs been ill for a long time? I swear that he had, and he wasn't going to last much longer.

Either way it's still a great loss for the world. RIP.

He was suffering from pancreatic cancer, which is what eventually ended him. Nasty way to die. I really hope he finds peace now.

I heard he had pancreatic cancer for a long time, that meaning several years, but only recently stepped down.
